R&R (Repeatibility & Reproducibility)

Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R) is a test used to determine measurement imprecision in a quality management context.

Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R) is a test used to determine measurement imprecision in the context of quality control . This test is aimed at assessing the ability of the measurement system to provide consistent results while ensuring the repeatability of these results.

The measurement system must provide correct and close results to the actual value of the measured quantity. In order to achieve accuracy. If we measure the same quantity under the same conditions multiple times. Reproducibility ensures that the measurement system will provide consistent results.

An R&R test is typically performed experimentally with different measuring devices, operators, or methods within a single measurement. It helps identify errors and sources of variation.

There are several methods for performing an R&R test, the most common being analysis of variance (ANOVA). The test evaluates how much each of the factors (for example, operators, measuring devices) contributes to the total variation of the measurement.

The R&R test reveals the accuracy and reproducibility of the measurement system. Problems require calibration, operator training, or method change.

The test is an important tool in quality management. It allows us to verify the reliability of the measurement system and ensure quality measurements and trustworthy results.
