AI and Industry 4.0

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a frequently discussed topic at home and at work.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a frequently discussed topic at home and at work. Today I was intrigued by Marek Šebo’s idea about amateurs and pros. I hope I understood him well.

▶ “AMATEURS often focus on algorithms. THE ADVANCED focus on the data. But the real EXPERTS deal with problem formulation and task evaluation.”

I’ll ask again, but I guess he meant that while beginners are debating what algorithm to use. The more experienced ones know that the quality of AI depends on the quantity and quality of the data. However, the experts understand that the key is defining the problem correctly and measuring success – that’s the only way to truly use AI in a meaningful way.

Marek was provoked by a question from one of the participants of the FBE – For Business Excellence seminar “Industry 4.0 and AI, which focused on applications in industry and was led by Peter Elbert. Therefore, there were people from Volkswagen Slovakia, Porsche Werkzeugbau s.r.o., Foxconn Slovakia, IAC Group, ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC Slovakia and from other manufacturers. Some of them are living the AI theme, others are looking around to see what’s new in their neighbours.

Our colleagues “unpacked” AI debates with Lukas Hlinka from Amazon and Gregor Krajčovič on the topic of streamlining business processes through automation and how it relates to AI in services.

When I asked Miss AI what apt simile she could find to develop a theme about her, I got the answer, “AI ran like an avalanche!”
